SELF CARE CHALLENGE ACCEPTED : DRINKING 2L OF WATER A DAY FOR 1 MONTH

The Cacao Skincare Team challenged me to drink 2 liters of water every day for a month.

As I'm quite athletic, I already drink at least 1 to 1.5 liters of water a day. So I accepted this challenge to see if drinking more water would change anything for me!


By switching to 2 liters a day, I was able to observe several positive effects on my daily life:

-Better skin tone: combining good hydration and good nutrition are for me the secret of perfect complexion. Going to 2L, my skin was brighter and the seemed less tired, less dull.

I'm not sure, but I also think that it has had an effect on the appearance of my skin: I don't have any small pimples anymore!

-A flatter stomach: I have found that drinking a lot of water during the day helps me to eliminate toxins and drainage. My digestion is better and I have said goodbye to the frequent bloating that used to make my stomach bloat.

I also noticed that when I now drink less water, I feel it very quickly because a lack of hydration has become synonymous with frequent headaches for me. In general, even, It is very important to stay hydrated, as 60% of the body is made up of water !

Other positive results? My quality of sleep is much better. Now with some good digestion and no frequent headaches, I go to bed in good spirits and get a good night's sleep.

 

TIP: It's important to know that you shouldn't drink large amounts of water right before bed, it can disrupt the sleep cycle.


I know it can be complicated to drink a lot of water. Some people don't think about it or just don't like the "neutral" taste of water, so I've put together some quick tips to help you drink throughout the day:

1. Make your water taste good
If you don't like the "neutral" taste of water, don't hesitate to flavor it with fruits like lemon or strawberry. There are water bottles with built-in infusers to allow this. You can also drink tea, infusions, herbal teas, or drainers, at your convenience, that also works very well!

 2. Know where you stand
Personally, my water bottle is scaled so this helps me know how much I've drunk during the day. I have a 1.5L water bottle and a 500ML one.

(Little ecological tidbit : it's better to have a glass or another reusable water bottle that you can slip into your bag and take everywhere, rather than buying plastic bottles all the time 😉 ).

3. Spread your water intake throughout the day
It's been important for me to drink water without having to "force" myself at some point in the day because I forgot to drink at such and such a time. There is no point in drinking too much at once, on the contrary! Set yourself goals, at least 1.5 L of water per day, more if you exercize, or if you feel the need even without being active.

In any case, there is no limit, you can never drink "too much" water and it is not dangerous for your health, so drink water without moderation!
